QA/Support Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Position Summary

Reports to: Vice President, Engineering

The QA/Support Engineer will be responsible for the successful plan, creation and execution of testing for a large-scale system at the interface level.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, run and develop automated regression tests against database/application server/web server/browser.
  • Set up testing environments with re-usable test cases.
  • Develop and execute tests against 4-tier application architecture. Including:
    • Black-box testing against web server.
    • White-box testing against application server.
  • Automation of engineer-developed unit tests.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical support issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field; Advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years experience within QA/Support teams; at least 3 years on web based applications.
  • Practical experience writing scripts, designing scenarios and performance tests; experience with Silk, Winrunner, LoadRunner other scriptable, multi-user load testing simulators.
  • Experience with Keynote or other hosted load applications a HUGE plus!
  • Experience testing .net client applications a plus.
  • Experience with Apache, Tomcat and Java programming a HUGE plus.
  • Must possess clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-starter with leadership skills a must.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and work with cross-functional teams.
